Give your Garage a Make Over

The average car in America sold for $27,958 in 2005. I am thinking that the average price has edged up since then.  So why are you leaving a $27,000 item outside in the open air protected from nothing, while in your garage is a big mess. Most people's mess inside a persons garage does not even come close to the value of that car sitting outside.

Why not give your garage back to your car and ORGANIZE your garage this spring.  I can understand that some of you don't know what to do or where to put that mess.  The easiest way to clean up your mess is with Steel Garage Cabinets. Get the mess of your floor and into the vertical space in your garage. Garage cabinets help organize your area and moves the mess into a vertical area that you have not used in the past.  Lets face it, our garages have more wall space and vertical room then any other area of the house, so why not use it.

So you got your garage cabinets, but you have some left over items that won't fit in a cabinet. What to do about these items? Leave them in your garage, no way.  You have space in your back yard or side yard?  How about a shed?

A shed? Are you for real. I can hear you thinking that, but outdoor steel sheds are an economical way of getting more storage space. Steel sheds come in DIY kits and can be delivered directly to your house. Anyone can put a steel shed kit together themselves as long as you can read directions and have the time. Of course help from your friends is always appreciated when building a shed kit.

So this spring give your garage back to your car, Before all that pollens turns your car from black to green

Spring Has Sprung- Get Your Garage Organized!

Spring has sprung, the grass is getting green and the flowers are starting to push out of the ground. If you are like most people you are starting to think about what needs to be done outside. What you need to plant and the things you need to purchase to make your yard look great for the coming months.  The one thing that most people over look in these early spring days is the garage.

A lot of us use our garage as a place to store all those garden products that we purchase in the early days of spring. But if your garage is a mess, you might be going back out to the garden store to purchase more of the same product cause you have placed it already in the vast wasteland of your garage.
Vast wasteland of a garage
Organizing your garage is not a difficult thing to do. Yes it takes some time but the rewards are great. No more purchasing that Miracle Grow 3 times in one season cause you can't find it in the mess.  The easiest way of organizing your garage is to get Steel Storage Cabinets to hang on your wall and place on the floor.

Get your stuff off your floor and put it in a steel cabinet. Protect it from your feet and anything else that might fall on it. Make your garage a place that you want to visit and a place where things can be found.

Where to put all my stuff in my garage?

When organizing any space and especially your garage, the main need is to figure out where to put all your stuff?  I find it best to arrange and assign each item an area that it will be stored.  In a garage more then area other area of your home there is more acceptable room to go up the wall instead of hiding your items behind a closet door.  Adding shelving or garage cabinets gives your garage extra storage square footage that you can not get inside in a bedroom or family room.

Inserting a few hooks and tool racks along with your storage cabinets will clear up your garage floor and give it back to your car.  Tool racks can store your shovels, brooms and racks so you don't trip on them anymore, the hooks can hold bikes, umbrellas, lawn chairs, out of your way till you need to use the items.

For smaller items the best thing to do is put them in a drawer or a wall cabinet. Separating the items by category and use time. The more you are going to use something the better it is to store it at eye level.

Clean that Garage and keep it clean!!

Every time you open the garage door, you swear to yourself you are going to clean it out and organize the place. But you have never done it, why not? Don't know where to start? IS it to overwhelming, or you just don't know what to do?  Try some of these tips see if they can get you started
  1. Pick a long weekend, this can be a long process Make sure the weather will bbe nice
  2. Call either a charity pick up for stuff you don't want for one of those junk removal places, to make an appointment for pick up of the unwanted but still usable equipment
  3. Get some contractor grade trash bags. You are going to have a lot of stuff that is going to be thrown away. The garage seems like a catch all for almost anything
  4. Start at the garage, take everything that you want and put it in a pile outside, then start a pile for the stuff you don't want but it is still good (this pile is for charity or the haul away company), and of course put the trash in the trash bags.
  5. Move in an orderly manner through your garage start on one side and move around to the other.
  6. The process will be long and hard but its worth it when its complete
  7. Once the floor is cleaned move on to the shelves, repeating the same process of making piles.
  8. Now that you have your garage cleared out, its time to put everything back
  9. PUT IT BACK OH NO how are you going to keep it cleaned? Instead of having everythign just thrown on shelves and on the ground get yourself some steel garage cabinets.
  10. 1st put your cabinets in the garage, then place items which are used the most often on the shelves inside the cabinets at eye level, then move down the cabinet putting the least used items on the bottom of your cabinets or on the very top.

I know it sounds like a lot of work and it is but
YOU CAN GO FROM THIS
