Garage Cabinets Gives Space Back To Your Garage

When you look into your garage do you see a car? Or for that matter do you even see a floor? If you don't shouldn't you organize your garage? Wouldn't it be nice to pull your car into your garage or at the very least see your floor? Time to organize the garage.

I am sure you know all know that a garage has a lot of wall space. Whats the best use of wall space? Hanging cabinets on it for storage. Garage Cabinets increase your overall storage square footage and lets you hide your items behind close doors.  The cabinets will help you organize the over all look of a garage as well.

Put wall cabinets up high enough on your wall so you can put base garage cabinets underneath for easy access to your everyday items.

Helpful Hints When Assembling an Arrow Shed

Did you ever look at an Arrow shed & wonder how do you get a full-sized storage building from that 1 box? Well, the folks at Arrow have been doing this for nearly 50 years! An Arrow building is a low cost storage solution and allows you to organize and have easy access to yard tools, patio equipment, seasonal sports gear and so much more.  You can see the full line of Arrow buildings at www.arrowsheds.com
There are some tips that will make your assembly process faster and smoother.  These include:

Ø  Make sure the day you assemble the building is dry and calm. Do not start assembly if rain is in the forecast.
Ø  A minimum of two people should assemble the building. If you have a larger shed, a third person would be helpful. The more people the better.
Ø  Prior to purchase, check local building codes. Some towns have restrictions on the type and size of storage building that can be built. Check for permit requirements.
Ø  As always, thoroughly read the instruction manual. The step by step process will also list the tools required for assembly.
Ø  It is extremely important that your site is square and level. This will ensure that panels will line up and provide for proper installation.
Ø  The Arrow web site www.arrowsheds.com contains an animated video of how a basic  gable building goes together. Use it to get a general idea  of how it will apply to your Arrow building
Ø  You need to decide what will be your base. Arrow has floor frame kit and base kit accessories to help keep your stored items off the ground. The wood required is separately purchased. In addition,  you may decide to have used a concrete base instead of a wood. Base instructions are detailed in each Arrow instruction manual.
Ø  After your building is complete, it must be anchored to protect against strong winds. Arrow has ground and concrete anchor kits available.  They are easy to install and depending on your base, will provide long-term protection for your Arrow shed.
Ø  It’s a good idea to keep the shed’s roof and door tracks clear of debris and heavy snow.  This will keep the roof strong and assure smooth sliding of the doors
Following these guidelines will help you keep your Arrow storage building attractive and in great shape for use year after year.

Why Buy A Steel Shed

There are many choices when it comes to buying a backyard storage building. Steel, wood and resin provide consumers with a variety of materials to keep their tool and patio equipment in an organized space. In these tough economic times, a steel storage building from Arrow Storage Products is a smart choice. Arrow buildings come in a wide selection of sizes and shapes. There’s a storage building for almost any need.

Steelbuildings are a complete kit. Unlike wood, there’s no cutting or sawing needed. You won’t have to paint or shingle the roof of a steel building. Arrow building parts are pre-cut, pre-drilled and numbered for faster DIY assembly. Steel buildings won’t  invite insects that can eat away at a wood shed’s material. Wood and resin sheds are expensive! In fact, on a pure cubic foot comparison, a steel storage building is your lowest cost storage solution. Resin sheds have their issues as well  when compared to steel. Resin by nature may turn brittle in extreme cold and soft in extreme heat. Door hinges may also weaken under climate extremes. Many resin or plastic buildings are not full-sized. Plastic sheds calling themselves  buildings may actually be an outdoor closet.

Steel buildings by Arrow offer full-sized storage solutions . Many buildings have large , tall door openings for easier access and greater headroom inside for a larger work area and storage space. Arrow also offers a premium vinyl coated line of buildings. These sheds panels are vinyl coated steel. This allows for a more durable and rigid paint finish that  has greater resistance to fading and scratching.  Vinyl coated buildings come with a 15 year limited warranty and is a great choice for a long-lasting storage solution.

Where to put all my stuff in my garage?

When organizing any space and especially your garage, the main need is to figure out where to put all your stuff?  I find it best to arrange and assign each item an area that it will be stored.  In a garage more then area other area of your home there is more acceptable room to go up the wall instead of hiding your items behind a closet door.  Adding shelving or garage cabinets gives your garage extra storage square footage that you can not get inside in a bedroom or family room.

Inserting a few hooks and tool racks along with your storage cabinets will clear up your garage floor and give it back to your car.  Tool racks can store your shovels, brooms and racks so you don't trip on them anymore, the hooks can hold bikes, umbrellas, lawn chairs, out of your way till you need to use the items.

For smaller items the best thing to do is put them in a drawer or a wall cabinet. Separating the items by category and use time. The more you are going to use something the better it is to store it at eye level.

Clean that Garage and keep it clean!!

Every time you open the garage door, you swear to yourself you are going to clean it out and organize the place. But you have never done it, why not? Don't know where to start? IS it to overwhelming, or you just don't know what to do?  Try some of these tips see if they can get you started
  1. Pick a long weekend, this can be a long process Make sure the weather will bbe nice
  2. Call either a charity pick up for stuff you don't want for one of those junk removal places, to make an appointment for pick up of the unwanted but still usable equipment
  3. Get some contractor grade trash bags. You are going to have a lot of stuff that is going to be thrown away. The garage seems like a catch all for almost anything
  4. Start at the garage, take everything that you want and put it in a pile outside, then start a pile for the stuff you don't want but it is still good (this pile is for charity or the haul away company), and of course put the trash in the trash bags.
  5. Move in an orderly manner through your garage start on one side and move around to the other.
  6. The process will be long and hard but its worth it when its complete
  7. Once the floor is cleaned move on to the shelves, repeating the same process of making piles.
  8. Now that you have your garage cleared out, its time to put everything back
  9. PUT IT BACK OH NO how are you going to keep it cleaned? Instead of having everythign just thrown on shelves and on the ground get yourself some steel garage cabinets.
  10. 1st put your cabinets in the garage, then place items which are used the most often on the shelves inside the cabinets at eye level, then move down the cabinet putting the least used items on the bottom of your cabinets or on the very top.

I know it sounds like a lot of work and it is but
YOU CAN GO FROM THIS

Things heard when installing an Arrow Shed

There are many things heard when installing an Arrow Shed. Some of them are not repeatable. This is a family blog.  Arrow Sheds are not the quickest or the easiest metal sheds to construct. However with a little bit of time and some help from friends and family, your install will go off without a hitch.  There seems to be some miss  conceptions about the speed and ease of the install process.

Yes it's a DIY project but in this case DIY means no need to hire a contractor to install the unit. YOU do need help to construct your shed. Go get some friends or family, the more the merrier This isn't a project you want to go about doing by yourself

OMG! it took me almost 31 hours to finish this metal shed ! This could be a true or false statement. There are many factors that contribute to the length of time it takes to construct your shed. Your skill as a handyman, the size of the shed and how much help you have will contribute to the time.

There are so many screws,  Yes there are. This is a metal shed and what holds metal together besides screws? use a power drill instead of just a screw driver, you don't want Popeye arms, DO YOU?

The holes don't line up!!!  98% of the time that the holes don't line up it is because either the shed is not square or it is not level. Yes in the manufacturing process sometimes there are errors, but before you start to curse Arrow Sheds please make sure you are plum, leveled and square. Then jump on the horn to tell us we made a manufacturing error.

Arrow sheds are a DIYers weekend project. They usually don't go up in 1 day and you will need help to construct the shed. However, once done you will be getting an attractive cost effective storage solution that will last for years and years to com.

If you need help with your install or have questions before you install please contact customer service. Remember to read the instruction and follow them so your installation will go as smooth as possible and your blood pressure does onto get you seeing red

How many times have you said?

How many times have you said, "holy crap I really need to clean up my garage".  We have so much stuff piled into our garages these days that we can't get to what we need without moving or stepping on something. With the economy at a snails pace we are keeping more and more stuff. Plus it seems we are ll crazy busy and never get around to actually going through and organizing our stuff.

So what I suggest to all of us that have muttered the words "holy crap I need to clean up my garage" is to take the time to actually do that and clean up your garage.  Once you get started, where are you going to put all that extra stuff. Maybe a storage unit, but then that means you have to pack up the car and get it over there. When you need something you have to jump in the car drive over there and haul whatever it is you need back to your house. Plus don't forget that monthly bill for rent.  How about a durable low cost solution to hits into almost any space?

Arrow Sheds offer everyone more storage square footage with a cost effective price. With over 70 different models Arrow has a solution for all your storage needs.  A durable, good looking low cost shed that anyone can install into their back yard.  Plus its made in the USA!

Now you have no excuse,  go out and move all your stuff from your garage to that new steel storage shed

Arrow vinyl coated steel sheds

Arrow vinyl coated steel sheds offer the best protection against the elements. I've had one for 11 years & it looks great--- no fading or scratches.

Welcome to Storage, Decluttering & getting the mess out of your house!

With the US economy as slow moving as it is, people are holding on to items more instead of just getting rid of them and purchasing new items when needed.  This holding of items has a negative effect on our lives. CLUTTER!

Clutter is a confusing disorderly collection or state.  We are running out of room in our houses, garages and basements. The more we keep the worse this clutter gets.  For someone of us, this causes undo stress on our lives and love ones.

Just look at the tv programs that are out there TLC's Hoarding: Buried Alive or AE's Hoarders, people are going crazy over stuff, junk, items. they need a way to get organized and decluttered

I will try to give you some ideas on what to do with your stuff and how to organize and de-clutter your home, garage, or basement to make life a little easier.
